The Haven & Earth homeware range was first introduced in 2016 by Aranda Textile Mills. Rooted in their strong design, quality and manufacturing history, this new innovative range was created to fulfil a particular need identified in the market.
Independent retailers, interior designers and boutique hotels and guesthouses were often unable to find contemporary and unique throws and blankets. This was mainly due to the fact that they needed to purchase lower quantities, which often meant limited options. The Haven & Earth collection, with its variety of quality and on-trend products, was created to meet this need.
Every year, since it was first launched, a new range of carefully curated throws, blankets and scatter cushions, is put together based on the latest global design and colour trends, balanced with those of the local market. The building of each new range begins about 9 months before it is launched annually at the beginning of each year. What starts out as a myriad of exciting and creative ideas, becomes well thought-through, refined designs before the sampling process begins. This is when it all comes to life! The range is then reviewed and finalised before being photographed and going into production. Each item is carefully selected not just as a stand-alone product, but one that can live in the range as a whole. The various throws, blankets and scatter cushions which make up the range each year, need to be able to be mix-and-matched effortlessly to create multiple stunning and luxurious looks for our customers.
Since its inception, some items have become a core part of the range and are updated each year. The selection of Melody plain throws are a wonderful example of this. Some of the colours remain in the range each year, supplemented by an annual fashion input. A beautiful selection of new Melody striped throws are also included annually and co-ordinate perfectly with the plains. These soft and cuddle-worthy throws form the foundation of the range as it is built every year.
The versatile Protea Throws have proven to be one of the must-have items in the Haven & Earth homeware collection. Woven on dobby looms, the intricate weave patterns combine with the colours of the cotton rich yarns to create a unique textured surface effect. Thanks to their generous size, these throws are perfect as bed or couch covers. They also perfect for use outdoors. Annually the design and colours are updated to ensure they are always on-trend while including the core range colours. The yarn used to weave these beautiful throws is spun by Aranda using a blend of acrylic and South African cotton. The Protea throws tell a truly South African story!
