I run through boots like they’re going out of style. And while I’m proud of that sentence, I’m not necessarily proud of the fact that it’s completely true. Even my father, a Texas cowboy, always had boots more worn and yet kept much more pristine than mine. Available in three heights, these reusable boot shapers come in a pack of six and are made from a high-quality plastic with just enough flexibility to curl into your boot — narrow, wide, short, or tall — and gently expand to shape the sides. I love that these have a hole at the top, so they’re easy to remove, even if you opt for shapers with a shorter height like I did. I didn’t necessarily want the plastic poking out above my boots, and the 10-inch shapers fill out my knee-high styles perfectly without being visible.
I’ve been loving the habit of sliding in my shapers right when I take off my boots. It instantly makes them look proud and beautiful (versus the way they were: scrunched, bent over, folded up, and generally just… sad. Now, I don’t limit my shoe storage to my closet. This fall and winter, I’m displaying all my vintage cowboy and riding boots around my home, from my entryway to my living room.
